What is the throttle

2019-11-20

The throttle is a controllable valve which controls the air to enter the engine. It is equivalent to the breathing system of the engine. It is called the throat of the automobile engine.

The throttle valve is connected with air filter and engine block. The air enters the combustion chamber inside the engine through the throttle, mixes with the fuel ejected by the electronic nozzle to form combustible gas, and enters the engine through the delivery pipe, burns and works inside the engine to generate power.

The role of the throttle:

The throttle controls the amount of air entering the engine and the amount of combustible mixture formed in the engine. If there is more combustible mixture, the engine speed will be faster. If there is less combustible mixture, the engine speed will be slower. So the throttle can control the speed of the engine.

The opening of the throttle represents the working load of the engine. The larger the opening of the throttle, the greater the working load of the engine, the greater the torque at the same driving speed, and the faster the working speed at the same torque.

The intake volume of the throttle to the engine provides ECU signal through the throttle opening, the time of ECU injector triode conduction is longer, the time of injector opening is longer, and the fuel injection volume is increased. The main function of the throttle is to provide engine load signal to the ECU, and to set a basic fuel injection time is the basic function of the throttle.
